Possibly stupid question
Are movements that start with the same numbers based on the same base movement? For example, is the P.5002 based on or very similar to the P.5000?
I am asking because in my long and probably too thorough search for a Panerai I have decided I like a watch that has the P.5002 movement. However, I have heard that the P.5000 movement has issues. I am wondering if these issues extend to the P.5002. Many thanks, really enjoying reading this forum. Apologies if this is a silly question. |

Yes, same base movement - the difference between the 5000 and 5002 is the power reserve indicator.
...and there are no stupid questions; none of us came out of the womb knowing what a ligne is. |
