Royal oak open work double balance wheel

I love the RO open work do8ble balance wheel but the $90,000 market price is crazy. What are the chances of getting one from a Audemars boutique at retail if you’re willing to wait and how long do you thing it will take?

How long is a rope? How heavy is a rock?

The thing is, the so called "waiting list" is not like a queue or a line where the first come gets first served. If you're Cristiano Ronaldo or Brad Pitt, I'm sure they'll get you one in a day.

I’d hope those types get it directly from AP through a resource and no take a boutiques allotment. But ah well

Probably you are going to wait until the piece discontinued if you expect openworked is your first AP from the boutique.

Had been waiting for 3 years for a blue 15400 without any news from the boutique before it got discontinued, which drove me to go grey for my RO. The skeleton should be way harder to get. I think the odds are less than 1% depending on where you're from. After all, why would someone pay close to 30k over retail for something unless it was virtually impossible to get?

Can't really say anything that hasn't be said besides confirming that yes indeed it is a gorgeous watch.

A rope is twice the distance from one end to the middle.

No prior purchase history? No way... BUT, there are some exceptions, some lucky ones who got allocated one. You need a charming personality to sweet talk the boutique to allocate you one.

That said, it's a really nice piece

If your goal is to not any spend money on AP and go straight to this watch at retail with a couple of years of waiting, I believe that is not possible...

They certainly would have made you bundle it with something else.

Westime is the worst when it comes to that and they have no shame whatsoever.

Beautiful piece!

OP, If you have some purchase history and continually express interest to your SA without becoming annoying, anything is possible.

It’s definitely one of those situations where you should keep expectations low and you may end up with an unexpected phone call in 12-36 months.

The 41mm version? That's surprising. Wouldn't have guessed that.

Just because its in the case doesn't mean its for sale. They have gone the way of display pieces so that people can at least see the watches, but you cannot buy them.

One of the very few that I would consider paying a small premium (~20%).

At the current grey market asking prices, I'd rather put that amount towards a new Cayman 4.0.

I hear you...although thankfully I'm not a car person and don't have that itch that needs scratched otherwise I'd truly be broke!

I'm comfortable at $75k with this watch, but I fear those days are long gone. It seems pretty solid at $85k to $90k.
