Best looking Rolex ever!!!!!

First Rolex model that got me hooked onto the brand actually. Loved this piece since I was a teenager and finally could afford one in my mid 20s.

A lot of the nicknames are strange, some guys really didn’t love the name Batgirl which I think was the jubilee Batman, right? I simply can’t remember all the numbers of the watches I own so nicknames are definitely easier. Bluesy is actually not that bad...

Anyway the more and more I look at them, the more and more I think the 116613LB will be better down the road. I don't want to worry about bracelet stretch, sneaky past or whatever. Might go to the AD and ask if the demo one can be transformed into a Henri one .
haha, that’s what I thought when I read the “demo” post. Good luck!

I was considering the TT Sky D black dial but while the SA was showing it to me, he was wearing his own personal Bluesey. I could not take my eyes off it.

I have owned most Rolex models and always wanted a "Bluesy". But I always found a way to talk myself out of it. Two days ago, I bought a 116613LB. I cannot believe I waited so long. It will be a keeper. As a Floridian, the consummate watch. You will not regret buying one.

By the way...watch nicknames are fun and I do not understand the big deal with using them. They make communication much easier. Walk into most AD's and say you want a 126710BLRO and you will get a blank stare. Say you want the new "Pepsi" and they immediately know. Relax...its all for fun.

I had the same reaction as you. I’ve tried it this week, simply because a guy said in a thread “my favorite Rolex is my 16613” and it got me looking into this.

Never liked the black sub, so of course I discounted it’s variants. My reaction at the AD was “why didn’t nobody told me about this!”.

On the nicknames, I started using these only because I’ve seen them here. Had no idea they existed beside the pepsi and coke. And for the story, my dealer actually gets the name by describing them. “Submariner Rolesor ceramic dial blue.”

Has anybody any thoughts on whether the “smurf” dial is better to get over the normal blue sunburst dial? It’s a matt finish and tends to be slightly older... just interested in peoples views..

These pictures are fantastic. I was offered a Bluesy by my AD before lockdown and passed on it but cant stop thinking about it. Such an amazing dial in person.

I find the 116613LB to be the most striking/standout watch. Gorgeous mix of glossy blue from bezel, sunburst blue from dial, paired with gold and steel. I’d contemplated selling it before due to this reason but I just knew I will regret the decision.

It’s also the watch that captured my colleagues’ attention and compliment whilst having a number of watches in rotation.

It’s probably a double edged sword, it grabs attention, whether you like it or not. If I want to stay muted or under the radar, I would probably go for 114060 or 116610, even the 116500LN is more reserved, IMHO.

Very nice pictures.

Honestly I care little about others, and if something is flashy, so be it. I’d rather enjoy my life than try to hide what I like from others.

Would the funds be available to me, I wouldn’t be against a RG rainbow Daytona ;)

Congratulations Sir....I love mine too eventhough it doesn't get all that much wrist time since my DJ41 is my daily, and soon it will be getting a brother in the form of a Rootbeer.

Enjoy it, and I hope yours gets more wrist time than mine!
