ROC Eurocopter

Long time lurker here - I decided, after having admired your watches for a while now, to share my newest acquisition that may interest you

I bought my first AP (25594ST) last year, and despite not being fully convinced by the treatment I received in the AP stores in Paris or Madrid, I did pull the trigger on this ROC last week.

It was the panda dial and the limited availability that peaked my interest - and even with some limited research, I was not able to find a lot of information about this specific model. But the dealer told me that you could only buy the watch if you also bought a helicopter, so I suppose that this narrows the initial target demographic quite a bit ...

Also, I am considering to add a metal bracelet to go for the full "wow" AP effect - or do you think I should leave it on the rubber strap?

Nice. You mentioned - only with a purchase of a helicopter. from whom/which company? probably that can lead you to more information.

Thanks for sharing. Is ref. 25594ST correct? That seemed to be the Day Date model?

From Eurocopter - to clarify, I have the helicopter registration engraved on the case back, so I know who owned it before (a European buisinessman who is still very active in the motor sport industry).

That being said, I only know the history of this particular watch - but I'd love to learn more about the series as a whole

Yes, this is the first AP I bought - Day Date Moon in 36mm.

The ref. for this one is 26137ST.00.D002CR.01 - I did find quite a lot of information about the Kasparov on 41watch(dot)com (I do not have the permission to post links yet)

I think 25594st was the one that he bought last year, not this one.

With the full bracelet will make it looks more elegant.

I'm not 100% on this but heard a story that ones bought with helicopter purchase have the registration/serial of the helicopter on the caseback. Due to the lack of interest from Eurocopter buyers rest of the batch was sold via AP boutiques and don't have that additional engraving...

If someone is buying some Eurocopter for a few million, or some more million, adding a watch has got to be a low priority. I am surprised they didn't include the watch for free. Thinking how many hours the watch would have bought on the little Guimbal Cabri I have been tooling around in...

Thanks edo for the interesting insights - I have seen another example online without the custom engraving, so this would make sense!

ts3 - Eurocopter did sell around 500 units in 2007, but no idea how many were for private aviation - and those who are in the market for an EC135 probably own 1-2 fine timepieces already ;)

That is what I find as well - but I think that I'll go for the newer bracelet (with the butterfly clasp) instead of the older, but accurate for the period, bracelet with the long AP clasp.

Also, here another picture with slightly better lighting:

Little update for whoever is interested: added the 1110ST bracelet, and the watch looks very different now happy to be able to switch whenever I feel like now!
