Looking for Input on Red Sub
Hello!
I am considering the purchase of a Red Sub, with MK IV dial, period correct bracelet with no box/papers. From a trusted seller, asking 22k$. Serial 2.38M, 1970. Dial looks to be in very good condition, with awesome patina, tritium completely dead and matching tome hands, bezel looks original to me with slight discoloration. Missing lume dot though. I am less experienced judging case thickness, to me it looks like one crown guard has been polished much more than the other. https://ibb.co/nwx2qdS https://ibb.co/YQ75PWZ https://ibb.co/FgJJhVd https://ibb.co/sPsvL4f Any input is greatly appreciated, should I go for it? (it is really tempting me) Thank you |

Those are not good pictures to evaluate. In image 0572, something doesn't look right with the lume on both the dial and hands...but may just be the photo itself.
A dealer shouldn't be covering up some of the most important attributes of the dial with the hands also. Serial seems early for a MK4 dial. The dial is suspect until you can get clear pictures face on unobstructed of the 4 rows of text under the hands. |

Thanks! Yes they are not very good pictures, what do you think is off with the lume? MKIV Start, in theory, with serial 2.45 although should 2.38 really be an issue? Will try to get better pics. |

The lume might be ok just crappy pics...looks like there is a chunk missing on the 6 marker so that would lead me to expect it’s original...but I would need pics in daylight...love the insert

I don't understand: a trusted seller that doesn't know how to make standard pictures?

Depending on condition of the bracelet (didn't see any photos of it), price is right at what I just recently paid, sans sales tax. If you're happy with it, consider that it will be an appreciating asset. They just ain't making those no more...
