Future price 5236P

Any thoughts on where the future pricing on this in line PC winds up for the 5236P?

I think it's a great piece. I reached out to two ADs who told me it's at least 18 month wait. I guess will time tell if it's better to wait or buy it new from gray.

In my book, it's never the right thing to do to buy a brand new release from a grey (i.e., you're contributing to the flippers who gonna keep on flippin').

This will be like all other non-Naut/Aqua Pateks... In other words, waiting is always best. Get it from your AD, support your AD, further build your relationship with your AD.

I think it will settle around 25-30% off MSRP on C24 and remain there.

It's better to buy from the boutique, so you can have good chance to get sport model.

I love 5236P. I am waiting as well :)
And of course only from AD.

Future price 5236P

My guess is it will be ~30% cheaper in the secondary market in due time. First, it is priced pretty high. Second, a pure PC versus a PCC - not sure if that really holds up as well. It’s definitely a pure dress watch versus a PCC, which arguably is a bit sporty as well. Plus the unibrow is quite divisive and without a clear divider between the day, date, and month apertures in this version, I would not be surprised if they try to come out with a different version to help improve legibility.

And PP certainly likes to make a lot of their bigger platinum pieces to the dismay of the collectors who own them (such as the 5270p, 5370p, 5131/1p…). They keep the run going and going and going.

It's already 30% less now. If you get a good bundle, 5236p isn't bad even with a 40% off in secondary market.

You’ve seen it offered at 30% off in the grey market? I see three on Chrono24, one at a ridiculous offer price and two are “price on request”.

It’s offered privately from a collector. Could easily negotiate for more since the guy got a nice bundle from 5236p. I didn’t take it at the end. I’d rather bundle this piece myself at the AD.

is the collector you mentioned from Th**l**d? I guess I see the same deal on 5236P at a very good discount, but I'm not interested in PC

This one is hard to call. It will be higher than MSRP for at least 1 or maybe 2 years due to it being new, P, blue and having a new layout. After that, it depends on the production volume. It may continue to rise if it is on a very short run.

I picked up one of the first ones here. I'm told 2 more have been delivered and sold since.

Congrats!

Is it normal for a Grand Complications to be delivered in such a number within a year? I didn't ask my AD but I don't commonly see so many of the same model from Patek. Maybe the ION store is possible but not the rest.

I don't think so. They only get one 5270p a year.

I’m ready to buy at 30% off but don’t think it will reach that given the premiums on all watches currently.
