I do not believe that AD’s forcing you to sign a contract stating what you can or cannot do with your property is legal.

I will not deal with an AD that forces me to do down this route.
Something starting to sound a bit odd here.

Forcing how? Blackmail? Gun to your head?

The AD can either sell something to you or not. It's at their discretion. You can either buy something from this AD or take your business elsewhere. It's at your discretion.

Who is the AD?

I mean if your wearing the watch why worry? Take a video/pictures of the cards for your records & also get it in writhing if anything happens to the AD they would be personally & financially responsible to compensate you. If they have terms make your own on their contract as well

I’m like you, Christian, haven’t sold any watch. The only time they kept my card was once in 2019 - never before or since. Is it a single AD or part of a group/chain? It’s strange that they’re still doing this - that AD must have not received the memo from head office!

That’s interesting. I think the large AD groups have stopped that practice

Recently purchased my 3rd rolex a rootbeer and was given a photocopy of my warranty card which they will keep the original on file for 24 months then will be given the original once that time period is up. AD said its to prevent flippers, new mandate from corporate.

Seems more a slur on the purchaser's reputation, from the AD, than anything else. To then read they drop watches round the purchasers house makes it even more odd.

I wouldn't be happy, but may live with the situation, if it was a new relationship. If i was a long-standing customer i would be somewhat offended, if truth be told.

Why slight my character, if you have had a long term relationship with me? Seems a bizarre move, in all honesty.

Outcome?
Mind changed and watch purchased?
Or was it sold over the past few days of these posts?
I'd have jumped on any MSRP deal like white on rice.
