Chain AD Wait

Trying to buy second rolex(dssd blue or sub). Bought my first a year ago and did not wait too long. I see now it is much more difficult. How does the wait work for a chain AD if I buy from a different ad part of that chain? Will all other stores from the chain take my purchase history into consideration or just put me at the end like I have no history? Just trying to increase my odds.

Pick one dealer, one store, one sales associate.

It's the same like Hermes. One store, One sales associate or you get ignored

The other chain store will look me up and ignore me even if there is a sale to be made? I am thinking that all these store get different inventory of watches and one may get it sooner.

Here in the U.K.
I believe you can only lodge a “ request” with one AD and multiple requests at different ADs owned by say WOS would not be acceptable iirc
Maybe go and have a chat with the AD you have purchase history with and if that’s not possible then explain your situation to the AD nearest to you and go from there,,,
Best of luck,,,

I just heard from a video that you should get on list of as many ad as you can. But the ADs in my area are mostly owned by one chain.

DSSD or Sub - Ignore you.

$40K DJ31 - Yes, sir. Will that be Visa or American Express?

Can we ban these how long is the wait posts? Everyone’s wait will be different. There is no magic formula. Too many variables and we have members from around the world.

I think they're interesting to a lot of people and keep people informed. Half the time we see an "incoming" people end up talking about the wait.

It would be useful if the reports actually carried any meaning. I wanted to buy a datejust. Store told me 8-12 weeks on order, could be longer. Then someone with no purchase history gets the watch in 2 weeks after ordering. What is anyone supposed to take from that? Nothing. Different dials, different ADs, different everything. There is no method to the madness on wait times. Even the AD’s who tell the truth cannot say for certainty how many pieces of each watch they will get in and how often such deliveries will take place. That’s why it’s a futile exercise. It just leads to inflated expectations and tons of posts like “I’ve been waiting 6 weeks and haven’t heard anything…”

Welcome to the forum I tend to lean toward sticking with one AD that you like and treats you well. The reality is that right now, things are taking a bit longer than they did a year or two ago.

Love your screen name.
Perhaps make your AD an offer he can’t refuse?

It's highly variable - some managers will take it into consideration and some will not based on my conversations. It will most likely put you between those with no purchase history and those with purchase history at that specific location.

My strategy: enter and try PM DD. Ask options with diamonds.

Then bait and switch. Say oh by the way do you have X or Y? Do it like in the movie Django.

A personal connection never hurts.

It’s best to establish it with the owner and move down the line if that’s not possible until you reach the SA.

Which may or may not be worth anything.

But a complete lack of a personal connection means your only connection is spending.

Do you want to compete purely on that front?

Anyone who says only spending counts is just bitter.
