For sale is an excellent condition unpolished all original 36mm Rolex Day-Date “President”. The 18078 is a 5.2 million serial, circa 1977, and is accompanied by its original boxes and manuals. The Rolex features a brushed yellow gold case, which is accented by a fixed gold bark finish bezel. The Day-Date is mounted on its original yellow gold President bracelet with bark-finished center links, and is secured by a hidden deployant clasp. The bracelet is stamped with a B clasp code, which correlates with a production date of 1977. The bracelet contains 20 full size links, and will comfortably fit a 7.15 inch wrist. The Rolex features a champagne dial with applied polished gold stick hour markers, gold tritium coated hands, a magnified date window aperture at 3 o’clock, and a day window aperture at 12 o’clock. The tritium lume plots and hands have been preserved well, and have acquired a cream patina, which warmly accents the watch’s champagne dial. The movement used in the 18078 is the Rolex single quick set Calibre 3055, which was serviced before listing, and is keeping exceptional time.

The untouched case is extremely thick with sharp well defined lugs, while the bark finish bezel is extremely crisp. The President bracelet is in immaculate condition, and contains minimal stretch, while the original bark finish is well defined and untouched. I would rate the bracelet stretch approximately 90%. This is by far the nicest 18078 Day-Date I have come across, and the pictures truly don't do this watch justice. The Day-Date has never seen a polishing wheel, but does contain a slight sleeve polish on some of the brushed accents from years of daily wear. Overall the Rolex is in excellent condition, and has stood the test of time extremely well for a 44 year old watch.
