Possible get this as a first AP?
Is it realistic to go to an AP AD and actually get in a ‘list’ for this piece without any previous AP purchase?

That's going to be a challenge, but it doesn't hurt to ask (at least not very much). You want to try with an AP boutique, preferably corporate-owned.

Sure why not. I doubt you will get it on your first visit but it's possible down the road.

Register interest with your local AD, have a few in person visits, and stay in contact with your SA. Might not be easy, but it is possible!

Yes. Be genuine and be a bit patient and you should be able to land this one. I wish I had the wrist to pull it off as it’s a beauty. Good luck!

A little surprised by the collective optimism of the wise souls of TRF. Hope the OP reports back on how things went at the AD/boutique.

Walked into an AP boutique in Europe in August 2021 and they had this exact one for sale in the store.

Let us know how it goes. An official retailer in the Netherlands can't get it.
My sales rep from the boutique in Paris told me he is on a month long holiday and get's back to me... super unprofessional. Gladly go the grey market round than make this guy some commission.

Do you think it’s easier to get an AP from a Boutique in Europe or one in the United States. Currently living in Greece for the year and have called 10 boutiques in Europe searching for an offshore Diver. Everyone has told me they are sold out.

You need to work the relationship or go grey. I got a black 15500st this year as my first and only purchase to date. From a boutique that claims to get 3-4 of black 15500sts per year. So it’s possible. But it took me 12+ months of staying in touch and building a good relationship that I genuinely maintain even now despite no planned follow up purchase. Sharing a bottle of champagne while trying on watches and having fun conversations is certainly good times in my book. |

I went to AP House last week and saw this in person and it is a luminous beauty for sure, I was asked if I wanted to be put on a waiting list for a next year buy and I said sure without really thinking, and the response was quite positive so I think these can be had with a little wait.
Also next to my RG 44 this looked pretty small, much more like a 42, the SS case just faded away into shadows to make it look much smaller and stealthier than a RG model. |

Just sharing my experience with AP team . I am keen on 15500st and approached a very experience SA in 2019, unfortunately i found out that she left the job in 2020. I was quite disappointed what had happened, felt my time had wasted . Shortly after that , my current SA called me ,introduce herself and said she will be taking over my account . She called me out of blue 5 months ago to inform me that she had something for me. She patiently explains to me that they are overwhelmed with demand now, she did her best , can't get me a 15500st but a 15450st for me. I felt good and bought it .
I think the key is to be patience with them. AP staff is absolutely professional . I am still hopeful that I will get 15500st someday. Pardon for my poor writing as I am quite poor with my english. Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk |
