I was more impressed by the Tokyo edition...
https://www.sothebys.com/en/buy/auct...tuelle-limited 252k CHF including premium... But perhaps this is the new normal for limited edition FPJ?! However, I do agree that CB and basic CS are not taking off at auction... |

A digression from prices, to say something about the actual watch. The perpetual calendar is displayed in a cool way here. See the pic below. Notice the month display says "3FE." The are actually 4 different February displays -- 1FE, 2FE, 3FE, and BFE (BFE is the leap year). Now, on the left side of case, you see a button with a slide above it. The slide unlocks the button (to prevent accidental pushing), and the button advances the month. The crown controls the other setting feature: After the crown is pulled out, rotating it upwards advances only the day, while rotating it downwards advances both the day and the date. So that's how you set it. |

Remember the days when watches weren't skyrocketing like Bitcoin of Shiba Inu?

Back in my day 5980s were case fodder and everyone knew you didn’t buy AP from the boutique because they charged full price Get off my lawn!

Regarding the Tokyo Edition Octa Calendrier, there is another one coming up at auction in late November at Phillips HK: https://www.phillips.com/detail/fp-journe/HK080221/945 There is also one for sale at acollectedman with a full titanium bracelet - asking price 318k USD https://www.acollectedman.com/collec...tion-titanium# For the record, I find the titanium/rose gold combination fantastic and I would be delighted to own any one of the Tokyo watches. |

For those interested (and in the area), FP will be at the NYC boutique tomorrow for a small event from 5:00 to 7:00pm.

No. I was offered an invite despite never having purchased a watch. Unsure if you can just walk in, but if interested in sure calling the boutique would secure an invite.

It's priced in GBP, so it fluctuates (£238,000 GBP). A few days ago it was at $326k USD. |

Interesting seeing 5 of the 99 Octa Perpetuelle Tokyo watches for sale in recent months, when you never used to see them come up for sale.

That's usually what happens when prices across the board are over-inflated.

considering Journe is making just 800 watches a year, and every year, more people are realising this brands' existence, the demand will only get higher and higher.

Will be interesting to see whether prices stay high or deflate in the coming November/December auctions. Regardless, I still think that the titanium/rose gold is a beautiful combo... |

Looks like...the auction price for an Octa Calendrier Tokyo Edition is now firmly in the
270k-290k USD, inclusive of buyer's premium, but net of sales tax/VAT and possibly import duties. I really thought that last month's results were a "fluke"... https://www.phillips.com/detail/fp-journe/HK080221/945 https://www.christies.com/lot/lot-63...ssummary&lid=1 By contrast...finally some softness in the non-limited edition models |
