Well, if it's for that, get something really blingy .
MB's Patron of the Arts pens will fit, e.g. Prince Regent, Octavian, or Carnegie. They are all good years. BNIB examples are very difficult to find. |

I'm getting my first "real" pen soon, a MB Classique Rollerball. I might be changing it to a platinum 149 in the future, which, I think is BEAUTY! |

I got the Classique Rollerball a few months ago and I love it. It is the smoothest and cleanest rollerball I have ever used. It is the closest thing to writing with a fountain pen. I'm sure you'll love it too.

I also have MB Classique and Le Grand ballpoints. Surprisingly the ballpoints are pretty bad. They put out small blobs of ink on loopy parts of my handwriting and aren't the smoothest to write with. I've tried medium points and fine points and I've bought refills thinking that I just had a bad insert, but they were pretty much all the same. I can't believe they make such a great rollerballs and can't seem to get the ballpoint insert right. I haven't tried any MB fountain pens, but I did recently get a Waterman Phileas fountain for $38 based on recommendations at www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/ The Waterman writes like a dream. I have 2 Cross fountains and I never liked using them since they don't write very well or comfortably, but I now use the Waterman whenever I can. I carry my MB with me as often as possible. It's nice to whip it out when signing a credit card bill in a restaurant or a store. P.S. I like your choice in watches. I recently got my IIc also.

Going back to a last Sept post Im using my old MB ballpoint for the past few weeks now.
Since I dont work it does not see much use and sat in a drawer for years...even thought of ebaying it but wife said not to. I found, and Im sure this will P.O. some MB fans is that it really writes worse than my Zebra ball points that my wife got at wally world for maybe 3 for 4 bucks. The Zebra gels write better than the MB rollerball I had before I lost that one years ago. I remember the refills for the rollerball did not last that long and were like 8/10 bucks. For my fastly dwendling bank account I'll stick with the Zebra or whatever I steal from hotels in Vegas |

As far more bang for the your bucks, the Zebra pens in BP or Gel
write better than and other pen I have tried....MB included. I like the gels the best but they dont last that long is my only complaint...but refills are very cheap. |

That pic with the Seadweller looks like it should be in the MB Catalogue!

I find the 149 very easy and comfortable to write with. To be honest I have never had a 146, good review here though.
