Any motorcycle riders here? Will constant vibration affect the movement?

Back when I first started riding Harleys I remember some of the guys saying the vibration affected the movement in their Rolexes. I didn't pay much attention at the time since I didn't have one.

Anyone here ride that has experience whether it does or doesn't?

Compared to a Harley my Triumph triple is relatively smooth, especially at idle. For what it's worth I've never experienced an effect on a watch.

I never wear my Rolexes when I’m on my motorcycle only a Casio. I’ve been down a time or two and would’ve trashed them if I had one on.

Hard to say.
I have experienced my Rolex watches speed up a noticeable amount when doing vigorous exercise where they're jiggling around.
My heavier Rolex watches sort of wobble around under similar conditions and the rate doesn't ever seem to change in comparison. So there may be something in that and take that for what it's worth.
Since 2005, I have had a dedicated mechanical watch for riding motorcycles which was better suited to slipping under a jacket or gauntlet winter gloves than any of my Rolex watches.
It has an earlier version of a Co-axial movement(2403) and it never ever wavered in it's timekeeping despite long road trips spanning a number of weeks and along vast sections of road which were hell on earth in remote areas that were chopped to pieces by Road Trains and very loosely patched to merely stabilise the surface.
The Co-axial watch has been fully serviced with no replacement parts required and no ill effects reported.
That's all I know

If you won't ride your motorcycle while wearing a rolex then I'm guessing you also won't play any sports, ice skate, jog, ride a bike, play tennis or do much of anything. And I'm pretty sure that you statistically have more of a chance to bust up your rolex when you slip and fall in the shower, as compared to riding your motorcycle, especially if you are old and fall into the age category around here, which is tales from the crypt.

I am thinking the vibrations from the handle bars are very good for winding the watch.

Always worn mine on bikes, including Harleys, with no issue. But, as mentioned above, I have found they can speed up during some exercise. Not turn constantly fast, just gain some time during the exercise.

I never wear the Rolex on the Springer or while driving, especially the Shelby. Seems silly to me to stand out in a crowd of bikers, let alone a group of boy racers.

I do wear mine while bowling and sometimes on the tennis court and occasionally while running a marathon.

Hope this helps.

I thought all Harley riders wore Rolex!

Very similar lifestyle brands that go hand in hand...

This thread needs pictures. While not a Harley, it is a twin, plenty of vibration. No issue.

I ride an L-Twin 1100cc Ducati...no issues that I've ever seen with wearing my Rolex. That's why I own a Rolex; so I never have to take it off.

You’re right I don’t wear my Rolexes when I play sports, ice skate, jog, ride a bike, play tennis, or go to the gym. I usually laugh at guys at the gym with a Rolex on it looks ridiculous to me.

I noticed an acceleration (a couple seconds a day) when running a lot. But no damage whatsoever, only the pleasure of wearing a great tool watch (16610LV with 3135). I suppose a motorcycle is not as violent as running for a wristwatch.

It is part of the mechanical watch experience, and I have a great Seiko Tuna (SBBN040) with marvellous high-end quartz when I want precision.

OP - absolutely no issue. Owned and own multiple high powered motorcycles since my teens, never had an issue with any Rolex.

Never had an issue on my Harley, but I switch to a Seiko when I'm dirt biking...not that I think the Rolex couldn't take it, but I would be really unhappy about beating up my Rolex when I (inevitably) wipe out on my dirt bike.
