Which direction does the date wheel move on the 126720VTNR

I'm curious about how the switch from the date/crown on the right to the left of the dial was implemented - I think we can get some measure of the extent to which they made changes based on which way the date wheel moves.

At the very least, they would have needed to print a new dial, new date wheel, and produce a new crystal (so that the LEC is still at 6:00). This would move the date to the left side of the dial - the only difference is that the date would still turn clockwise, so instead of flipping down from the top of the date window, the new date would pop up from the bottom at midnight. The hands will still move clockwise and the movement will still be mounted the same way in the same case as the rest of the GMT range.

I've seen some mention that they retooled the movement to accommodate this change, but it's tough to imagine that they made substantive changes, since the movement reference number is the same as the righty GMTs - 3285.

One indicator of the extent to which the movement actually changed is by looking at which direction the date changes. Does anyone know the answer?

Never mind - I found it. The date wheel still moves clockwise. I'd be surprised if the changes went past the components I mentioned above (dial, date wheel, and crystal).

Despite the marketing fluff, I'd be surprised if they did much more than flip the movement 180 and recut and printed a new dial and date wheel. Could even have simply turned the case, too - just switch the two bracelet sides around. That's why it looks like an upside down watch from a few feet away.

Rolex didn't have to do much.

For the crystal, all they had to do was stick the cyclops on the other side so that the LEC would be in the correct position.

No new crystal, no new cyclops.

Exactly anyone would think it was something special, left hand wind Rolex were around decades ago but then poor sellers. But once todays so called social media starts portraying them as the greatest things since sliced bread, left hand mania will most probably take off gods knows why.

Touching the 3285 makes no sense. Just rotate it.

They'd have to produce a completely new movement, either to selectively mirror/reverse parts or to go full 'enantiomer' and have it run anti-clockwise.
