Thank you!
I've got a Nikon D60 and my lens for plane spotting is the Nikon 70-300 VR. I'm planning though to upgrade to D300 after the summer....

George, I warmly congratulate you for the quality of your pictures.
I don't know if you are familiar with JAL123, the worst airplane crash involving only 1 plane in history. A photographer took a picture of the airplane before it crashed, and this was instrumental in finding the cause for the crash. Note the dameged tail cone and the lack of rudder.

I used to do this also Jen! It was so cool to watch, but since 9-11 the police put up concrete barriers along the railroad tracks where everyone used to park to watch and now they also patrol the area to chase away anyone trying to take pics. I miss doing that =(

I'll add a few pics of the Airbus Beluga that I saw in Naples recently. The first two were taken through the bus window which had a mesh covering. Thus the lack of clarity.

Heck... I could not even afford that one so I have the 70-300 ED. No VR.

Awesome pics by the way!
I always wanted to do that but there is no good spot at DFW that I know of.
The airport is HUGE.
Tell me about it, Chip. I recently flew out of DFW. I got to the toll booth at the entrance to the airport and read the sign: "Rental Car Return 5 miles." 5 miles? And that was just at the far end of the airport.

I saw in article in Lufthansa's in-flight magazine recently that said they used it to ferry the vertical stabilizer section of an A-380 from it's manufacturing facility to the assembly plant. And it just barely fit inside.

I've never seen it in flight, but it must look like a flying whale.
