Help...I am Torn!!!

First I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time and offered up opinions on the few posts I have made recently...

I have narrowed my first Omega purchase down to either the Speedmaster Pro (with the Hesalite Crystal) or the FOIS...

I prefer the look and size of the FOIS...

But I feel the Pro is a better over all watch with the new bracelet, movement etc...

Ultimately I will make up my own mind but any thoughts would be greatly appreciated...

Can you put the new 3861 bracelet on the FOIS? I think the bracelet that comes on the new 321 will fit. UncleSeiko sells close replicas

I've tried both, and ended up with the 3861 (Hesalite). No regrets.

For what it's worth, the dial and bezel size of the the Moonwatch and the FOIS is exactly the same.... the 42mm of the Moonwatch comes from the asymmetrical crown guards, so it effectively wears like a 40mm watch (sort of).

That being said, when I tried on the FOIS it did seem to wear more compact in diameter (could be because it was also on a strap)... but... due to the straight lugs, it felt more slabbish on the wrist, and wore thicker, which is a turn off for me. The curved lugs on the Moonwatch seem to make the case appear and wear thinner... I'm not sure if there is an actual difference in thickness between the two.

The movement on the 3861 is spectacular. When I first got mine, I tracked the time over several months and it averaged to +0.4 seconds a day.

honestly you cannot go wrong with either watch....just my small two cents, the new 3861 is superior to the movement in the FOIS (better power/METAS certified)

Maybe this will help, if buying brand new from an AD or Omega Boutique matter, you can no longer buy the FOIS new. Even on recent watches, the secondary market can be hard. You don't know what's been dropped, worn in a pool with the crown popped and sent back to Omega for a full movement replacement, and a host of other things. I'd buy a new Hesalite 3861 and enjoy. You cannot go wrong with it.

No knock on the FOIS whatsoever.

Let us know what you choose.

Good man - great choice. I like both (and have an EW). The 3861 takes up a little more real estate on the wrist due to the lyre lugs but it’s a great watch. I think I’d have made the same choice.
