Has there ever been price increases in different parts of the world before? The price hike this past January was world wide. Thanks

That is some price rise, £1050 in two years, wow!!!
I bought my DJ 12 months ago and was added to the Sub waiting list and there’s been two price rises since then, 16% higher now for the 124060.

I was offered a Sub Date in March. I should’ve taken it, sold it and bought a 124060 grey.

I remember there was no increase in the UK for several years (around 2015-2018? or something, I can't remember exactly, as the price in the UK was quite high, compared to other countries, due to currency issues) while other countries had their price increase. I didn't have the figures, just based on my memory and please feel free to correct me if i am wrong.

I swear in Japan we are getting hammered with all the increases due to the weak currency + Inflation double whammy. Even Patek has increased twice this year in japan by 10% each...

There was also a statistic released last week? I guess USA, China and Hong Kong are the top three countries in the work Swiss exported their watches to, of course, and there is no particular figure for how many Rolex are exporting to. UK is around 7th or lower. Again, this is just based on my memory, please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Price Change: 5%
"Official" UK Inflation: 10% (forecast to be 20% by next year)
Real Effective Price Change: -5% (5 - 10)

Good news after all.

And it will still be significantly below market equilibrium, especially for SS models. So it's pretty much pointless

Wear it, Don't wear it.

Your money, you do what you want.

Be interesting to see if the spread between grey and retail gets super close who will play ball with the AD

Hopefully another price increase in January 2023

Except that this is the second price rise in a year making it over 10% for many models!

Your price for a Sub is under the retail of USA at current price, even after your increase. That's why I'm confused at a lot of UK posters flipping out, we're still paying more at current currency rates that you guys.

I personally couldn’t care less about whether he’s right or wrong on ‘all things Rolex’, however this price increase I’d read about elsewhere before he posted it on you tube and hence this thread. Previously he’d posted similar about a new Watches of Switzerland ‘policy’ and I’d read that weeks before on various forums and Facebook pages. To me the guy just posts info that’s already out in the public domain and some of what he posts is inaccurate anyway. Fine have a you tube page and talk to your hearts content, but don’t try and make out you’ve got intel when half the people out there already have it

Exactly. I knew about it from the AD before he posted his video. Well said!

Yes. The UK had its own price rise mid 2019 before additionally getting the world wide one in January 2020.
