Singapore and Melbourne international airports
I'll be going through these 2 airports soon.
What's the security screening procedure like? Will I need to take off my watch? Should I take off my watch and put into my carry-on luggage before I go through the metal detector?

I always take off my watch and put it in my carry on before entering security.
In the event you’re asked to remove it, you then have to fumble about with what to do with it. You either toss it in the tray provided by security, or you try to catch your bag before it goes through the scanner. Neither is ideal, and the later is an inconvenience to other travelers. |

What Brian says. If security tells you to remove you have no option anymore and your bag will be already in the scanner.
If you are afraid that somebody will steel it in Singapore than don’t be. Just not happening in this great city

Every airport I travel through requires watches to be removed, I use a leather single watch roll or pouch if you like to protect it ..

I’ve never been asked/required to remove my watch…sure they do a thorough look at it…not saying it doesn’t happen, but (to date) never happened to me
