Divers Extension, clasp Submaring 16800

Got my first “vintage” submariner, birth year 1984 model. Non gold sub surrounds.

The clasp won’t engage and and the flap is loose as well. The extension won’t “pop” in place and stay.

Is this something I can change fairly easy without damaging the integrity of the watch? I absolutely love it- just want to make this wearable!

That is how the 93150 is, the only thing that holds the extension in is the rivet at the hinge that nestles in the second set of holes.

If there is too much bend in the deployant blades it can plush the bracelet away from the clasp, so you may need to fiddle with those. When it is closed snugly on your wrist there isn't any droop. If you wear it loose, it will always hang down a bit.

Looks like one of your extension blades may be bent, they should lay flat against one another, and the little "bridge" should straddle the spring bar.

On the older clasps, such as this, the little square indents on the sides can help hold the links, but you need to squeeze the clasp to make contact there.

Similar issue in this thread. Remove excess links to reduce droop, bend/straighten appropriate blade to tighten clasp.
