SBGN021 accuracy after 1 year.

I was looking at some old photos of my watches and found a photo taken the day I got it. 21 October 2021. Since then I have adjusted for odd dates and daylight savings time all with the feature of the 9F86. Being able to accomplish this without interruption of the time keeping.

I have not checked it or reset the watch during that time. Okay, time to reveal the findings. I set my watches to time.is. so I checked it against the same web site. The results after one year and one day was......... -2 seconds total! Amazing.
I was pretty impressed to say the least.

Excellent. I got similar results from my 9F earlier this year.

Me too. I'd like to get one with a clear caseback someday, too. My 9F83 doesn't have the jump hour hand like your 86, but there's no daylight savings here so it's fine unless I travel overseas with it, which I haven't done since 2019.

Can't wait to check the LE 9F85. Even though it's +/-5 seconds per year rated. I can't see it being much better than the 9F86.

I have heard the 9F62 and 9F82's hold there own as well. They all seem to be extremely accurate.

I think I read that any 9F can achieve +/- one or two seconds per year if very finely adjusted.

Interestingly, Seiko was making +/- 5 secs-per-year quartz movements as far back as the 1970s. I had one for a while (ref 9983-8000), and it still gained less than a minute a year, at age 40+.
