Many serious collectors say used sweaty ladies sneakers is where it’s at.
I don’t know where these ideas come from but the people are reputable. |

Fwiw Padi I agree with your watch posts re: $$$ and technical info shared. Cheers! Cool sneaks everyone. I have a friend w/ 65 pairs; not all collectibles of course. |

Thanks Brian. Mine is just a small humble collection. I only collect the ones I really like (mostly AJ1s and 4s and now I'm in to SB Dunks) and my collection is nothing compare to some of my sneakerheads friends. Some folks on here also have very nice collection as well. I wear all my shoes though. Some only collects for the sake of collecting, and some sells these for profits (I sold a pair of Shattered Backboard for $800 and bought them for $150 so yeah you can make a really nice profits on some of these) but I do wear all my shoes.

Just out of curiosity and for sh#TS & giggles I have a few questions for you gentlemen. Which hobby did you get involved in 1st? Do you think you’re more passionate about one over the other? Do you actually wear ALL of your shoes and watches (assuming you may own more than 1 watch)? And lastly, based on the shoes and/or watches you collect what is harder to acquire in today’s environment? That’s a lot of questions, I know…. if you’d rather not answer and wish for me to just take a “flying leap”, I highly respect that! I’m just fascinated with those who have multiple hobbies and/or the desire to collect certain items. I hope you both have a GREAT day! Janet |

I do wear all of my shoes in rotation. Once in a while i would get them out from storage and wear them (some of them are leather which needed to be aired out every once in a while). For me, they are both equally hard to acquire if you want to buy at retail. Hope that answer your questions. |

Just ordered the Lost and Found's for $457/shipped.
Took advantage of the large auction site's current 10% off sneakers promo to snag them, which is about $50 below market value when you factor in taxes and shipping on sites like StockX and GOAT. As much as I hate to pay above MSRP (this might be the first time I've ever done it! ), I think it's well worth it for these, again at less than market rate. I couldn't get them out of my head and I love the story behind them, as well as the receipt / box / etc. At the end of the day, I'm happy! |

That’s a very important shoe if you’re into Jordan. It’s a must have. Most of us can’t get an original AJ1, because spending 20k on a shoe is a bit nuts. But this is as close as we can get while still wearing them. It’s awesome. Didn’t buy them hoping wife got them for Xmas. If not, December 26 they are in the cart! Did you cop the lost and founds at retail? Do you think they are worth the ~2.5x juice they are fetching on the secondary market? I am going to wear the f out of them!

I got lucky with the lost and found. I tried to flip it in StockX and they returned it for no reason. Anyway, I sold it at my local sneaker shop

You're a bad influence! Haha, I agree though - I don't see losing money on either pair and they both look amazing. |

I haven’t worn high tops in years but always enjoy looking at Js, especially the funkier designs.
I got these and have never touched them. Somebody offered me a straight trade for a 42mm older ROO. I contemplated it but decided not to, Interesting to see the sneaker world as I otherwise had zero concept of prices/desirability etc. |

I buy what I like the look of with the sole purpose of wearing but certainly lean toward AJ1’s.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm getting into this more as a collector than as a wearer of said shoes - and it's not necessarily about the money / value, as I don't view them as investments, per se. I just love the Jordan silhouette!! The fact that they maintain value is icing on the cake. I've got more comfortable shoes to walk around in and play basketball in as well (air max penny releases from a few years back).
Unlike my watches, which I wear and take with me on trips / swimming / etc., the sneakers I've purchased are strictly for display to me - they're sitting in acrylic cases in my office. More power to those that wear every new Jordan sneaker they purchase, but that's not me. Excited for the incoming AMM 4's and Lost and Found's to join these 3! |

Ok so question for you guys then.
How many of you buy to keep boxed then? Curious on relative percentages. For those that do keep that way, are you like that with other things? Like watches too? |

Buy to wear. Life’s too short to relegate a perfectly good shoe/shirt/watch/car/bourbon/wine to the display case IMO. If I’m lucky enough to buy them, I damn well use them.
