No blue SS Sub because...
Do you think the reason why Rolex doesn't make a blue dial and blue bezel SS Sub is that it may look too similar to an Omega? It was just something that came to mind when I saw a Seamaster today.

I agree with all of the above reasons. If available, I would've probably opted for a TT SS model, rather than the TT gold model because of cost, and everyday wear-ability. But I won't complain too much, simply because TT Sub rocks and separates men from the boys

What's the difference between a TT SS and a TT gold model?
The TT SS and the TT gold model separates the men from the confused.

Well, I always thought that two tone (TT) referred to Gold/Blue, Gold/Black Submariner. There is no Sub made by Rolex that is TT with a solid stainless steel bracelet, which was the topic of this conversation. So I don't think I'm the one confused.

TT refers to two tone meaning the gold and stainless watch. Which by default the dials you mentioned only come on the gold and ss modelsTT= Two Tone gold and ss

There are pics floating around of a supposedly limited edition SS/ blue Submariner once sold in small numbers in Asia. I have not seen anything I recognize as "firm" evidence, but someone else may very well have. The color reportedly is the same as a blue Tudor Sub.
IMHO if one could be verified as genuine, it would be quite valuable.

I think a SS sub, blue dial would gut the sales of the WG blue dial sub. Rolex will not do that.

You posted the gold into the equation as Two Tone/Stainless Steel and Two Tone/Gold. My point was...I was confused.

No, not at all. If the reason they didn't make a SS Bluesy was becasue it would look too much like an Omega, then they wouldn't make one in YG, right? They don't make an SS Bluesy becasue, if you want a blue dial, you have to pay a premium and either buy the TT or all WG. Plain simple as that.

I think that especially now that there is a WG blue Sub, Rolex won't dillute that model's "look" by making a blue SS model. I have tried a WG bluesy on... it was quite the watch. |

I'm pretty sure they will never release a blue SS Sub because the WG one will lost the status when it will be mixed up with the SS version. Jocke

Because the SS dials are boring in comparison and a SS Daytona isn't mistaken for a WG model.
As was stated, with the same blue dial and bezel, they compete against themselves. An SS Bluesy won't happen. Hasn't in the past, won't in the future. |

Good call, I suppose that's makes sense. Blue is very synonymous with Omega. I don't think they will release a blue sub, as they want people who really want one (like me), to purchase the white gold one, and make more money.
They are clever!

The TT blue sub sells really well. If Rolex came out with a SS blue sub, then the TT blue sub would not be special anymore and sales for the TT blue sub would definitely drop!
