Haven't seen many listed recently on TRF and C24 is just frozen at this point. Nothing moving and nothing going down in price

Currently an auction going on for a silver 50th 26240st that ends tonight.

Please keep me posted... Not the one that I'd be after but it's a data point regardless... On C24 it's around 53k or more so curious where this lands...

Thanks for this.
Surprised that prices are a bit steady at this point... Not much movement either way.

And before GGGMT goes back in this thread - no prices are not rebounding

Current management is at fault for the ££$$€€ craziness.

TBF he has points but he seems a bit weird. Check his comment responses under each video: twit:.

He also takes great pride in inane, childish, quite pathetic personal insults on everyone in the grey industry. Prune face, droopy eyes etc etc (although his disciples seem to lap every insult up tbf) as if that validates his position.
For me it makes him personally rather suspect and extremely untrustworthy for a man of his age .

We all know the market is dropping, and we don't need someone endlessly repeating the same TWMID over and over and over. His videos have about 1-2 minutes of actual content stretched out to 15 or so minutes..

He reminds me of a poor mans Archie Luxury

Yeah I mean some of the insults are a bit much but I think he is going after certain greys (TPG, Paul Thorpe, etc) bc they are all lying through their teeth about the market. I watch his vids mostly for entertainment so I don’t put much stock in anything in the vids.

I don't really watch much of his stuff, but I'm glad he exists as a counterpoint to the grifter grey dealers that continue to try to push watches as investments. If he saves one person from believing the hype, or signing up for a "watch dealers course", he's doing good work.

A datapoint:

At the Christie's Watches Online: The Geneva Edit. AP 14802ST "Jubilee" Jumbo (regular dark dial not salmon) had 1 bid at the starting price: CHF 30,000. I was watching it 2 days out, 1 day out, a few hours out. Still no more bids.

It got a single bid at the starting price and therefore the final price was that + buyer's premium: CHF 37,800. That's like $41k. Meanwhile the lowest seller on Chrono24 is asking ~$85k and most over $100k. Hodinkee shop wants $108.5k.

I was idly thinking about bidding on it because I might like to have a 14802 one day and it feels like a "great deal." However, buying something I probably wasn't itching to buy just because it's cheaper than it was before isn't really saving money... :-)

Lol. Some even try to sell courses and teach others how watches are an investment, etc.

Very interesting data point but also a crazy outlier from what I can see.

In the same auction a naked 14790 sold for almost as much as that 14802 and, for comparison, a 5712/1A in soso condition still sold for CHF 94.5k.

The result for the 14802 likely reflects (1) its poor condition, (2) its relative obscurity compared to 5402 and 15202, and (3) RO Jumbos having dropped more than most since peak hype (which happened to coincide with the 50th RO anniversary fuss).

Where do we think its going to go? I'm still waiting to pull the trigger... I thought 60K GBP would be as low as it goes for the newer models i.e. the pre-discontinued prices.
