Is the 124060 Sub distinct enough from other dial configurations to remain?

I have a handful of Rolex pieces and have felt that the design of the dials in particular have quite a of overlap. However, I was just offered the 124060 Submariner and I pulled the trigger. Will pick up later this month. I've always admired the design, symmetry of dial, functionality. I own a Hulk and YM42. They both get significant wrist time. Will be curious to see if it is just different enough or if the overlap is too great with my other pieces.

Do any of you own multiple submariners or similar watches? If so, do they blend together or is the 124060 distinct enough to remain in your collection?

The 124060 is in my opinion perfectly balanced and with the black bezel and dail and lack of date window very clean. I think it has a place in any collection, even next to a hulk.

I have an (obviously) older 14060m...I find that the extremely clean and simple design, along with the lack of date makes it just about the most useful watch in the collection. All my other pieces, save for my Explorer, are extremely colorful and therefore not quite as universally wearable. Plus, after not wearing a no-date for a while, it's refreshing not to have to spend 5 minutes setting it. Just wind it up a bit and go.

If you will be happy, and don’t mind, that’s all that matters. I personally think they’re different enough not to be redundant.

It’s the 2nd best sub behind the 114060

IMO the new 6 series is the third best Sub behind the 5513 and 14060M. The 124060 wears differently. It’s heavier and more showy. Sits bigger on the wrist. But is closer to the vintage references in lug proportions than is the maxi 114060.

That’s exactly the reason why I bought the Explorer 224270. sth new and different in dial optics.
Already have a Kermit 2023 and GMT Master II.

The Sub (ND) can coexist with its derivatives like the Hulk, the YM or the Sea-Dweller.

I personally own a YM40 SS/PT, a SD43 and a Bluesy. Dials have different colours and to me there's no overlap, despite the same design language. I have a soft spot for divers and other watersports related watches, so to me it's totally fine. YMMV.

The Submariner is a one and done for many. It’s stands alone in my opinion

If you also have a 3 series BMW, you better read the other Submariner thread!

OP. Sure. If you think so. It will be fine. I'm sure you have it lots of thought. I'm sure it will wear just like your Hulk and get the equal amount of time on wrist as your YM.

I think this is spot-on

I think it's perfect with any collection or as a one and only. The clean balanced dial and classic uncluttered look makes it ideal.

I hope so, it's next on my list.. Currently waiting.. Have a TT 126613LN already but I feel like 124060 is a completely different watch altogether albeit from the same line.. Love my TT but it can be a bit on the flashy side at times, and I think the 124060 is a bit more subdued and low key.. Great everyday!

I have some neo vintage subs including original Kermit and modern Rolex sport models. The 124060 is my daily and it’s symmetry it awesome. It is unique and you’ll enjoy it a lot!

I just got the call and was offered the 124060, I had the same doubts as I already have a Deep Sea, but bought anyway, and have absolutely no regrets!
