DJ 41 crown stem

Hey all
I have a DJ 41 that after I set time, takes a good 4-5 rotations of crown for it to catch the thread and start screwing down. Normal?

I don’t have that issue it screws down straight away. I guess your problem won’t be specific to a DJ41 either it may be worn or damaged threads on the crown or on the case tube. I think I would live with it until service time unless it got worse.

Might have it looked at. They do wear after some time.

It depends on how much you have worn the initial thread.

I have an Explorer that sometimes does the same.. If I turn the crown slightly anti (counter) clockwise until I feel I slight ‘click’ the crown will then screw down without problem.

Turn it slightly the other way while applying pressure to the stem towards the 3 o clock. Then turn the normal way to close it off.

I used to have a bit of a time getting the threads to grab on a newer DJ41.

I was VERY careful when screwing it down, not wanting to damage the threads.

Just had my watch serviced and it catches really easily now. I don not know for a fact that the tube was changed, though. I do think that's standard.
