18 BPH vs 28K BPH : caliber performance

The calibers in question have all been in Submariners:
From a 1560 (5512 reference) and 1575 (red 1680)
to a 3135 (16610) and 3130 (14060M). Comparison of performance and relative efficiency of the two base caliber group speeds: 19 K bph
vs 28 bph. Rolex has always claimed more accuracy with the newer
fast calibers. Durability, efficiency, accuracy -parts wear are the factors.
Rolex seeing the most use was a 49-yr old 1969-1680 Submariner
that seemed to run for ever-with active use- and was reasonably accurate.

Comparing the two caliber groups, it seems from personal experience that the newer calibers require more active use than the calibers in the older references. That could just be a subjective view.

Age of users along with today's life styles may play a much more relevant role in the performance of automatic watches. Opinions of CW21s seem to agree.
However, at least one well known watchmaker of this small group
thinks the earlier Rolex calibers had better metal quality within the movement parts than current calibers.
