5990 owners
Whenever I open my watch box and see the 5990 I always think “wow this watch looks awesome”. Sometimes when I wear it, it feels perfect. Sometimes it feels too thick (specifically from dial to top of the sapphire).
Anyone else feel the same? |

No it’s just about perfect, probably my favourite Nautilus ahead of 5711 and 5740.

My favorite Nautilus, although I’m biased. I think it’s perfect.

That it is a dream one for me. If you get tired of it, will happily take care of it for MSRP.

Mines the rose gold version but feel it’s the best nautilus in any metal. It doesn’t feel or look thick to me. It wears bigger than the size in paper though. |

In general, Nautilus dial's galvanisation effects are just out of this world and mesmerizing. Hence, yes, when getting them back after a while we always feel this "wow" experience. The body is also beautifully worked but I think the dial's tones are what make it exceptional.
However, I would say there are many watches in the high-end field of watches that provide this feeling. A Lange works fantastically well too for instance. New incomers in this field often ask what makes the difference between brands, especially when seen from pictures only. When used to handling different level of watches, you definitely experience a difference. |

So I have the steel and RG versions and would have to see probably steel is just a bit more comfy because of the weight of the head of the watch doesn’t cause it to flip or drag. It’s a bit more balanced.
But in reference to your question, when I wear the 5980, I do notice that the 90 is a little more tall or something. Seams just a touch too thick. But once you wear it for more than 5 minutes you get used to it. I think the 5980 is THE PERFECT dimension for a chrono nautilus. 5990 is great has more complication, but overall look to me, 5980 Has it (steel and gold) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I love mine...it's my favorite Nautilus...that said, at times I'd actually like it to me maybe a mm or 2 larger
