Icon3 Why do you think the high dollar prices are showing on Rolex website now?

Rolex official website didn't use to show high dollar prices somelowl $60k to$70k plus watches just shows inquiry or something. Now prices are listed. Why do you think Rolex decided to do it this way all of sudden?

It’s a great idea. I would think to be more transparent and to help reduce enquiries to the ADs… they already have enough enquiries as it is. lol.

This! I like being able to price things out to have an idea how deep the water is. I understand having the “please inquire” message for pieces that are extremely expensive, but not showing the price of a $60k(ish) watch online always seemed a little silly to me.

It could be that in those days when you inquired it would have been possible to sell the inquirer the watch. Now, they would inquire and then have to be told to wait forever. No need to drive store contact.

£40,000 was the threshold in the UK
I think this is a prelude to getting rid of physical catalogues
Hope I’m wrong

I must have never looked at the "higher dollar" watches because I never knew.

This has to be very recent, and I fully support it. Unless there is some reason the price wildly fluctuates, put it out there.

Another vote in support of this. I want to know before I get started if it's in my budget or not.

Rolex.com now showing MSRP on all watches

No more "price on request".

Fun to finally see what some of these gem set pieces go for.

The biggest shock for me was the difference between a platinum DD40 with a fluted bezel and one with a diamond bezel. $50k(!) difference for the diamond bezel.

This indeed nice move.

Great find! It was enjoyable to explore. I do wish they had some of the items not featured in the catalog!

With all the MSRP's published Rolex want to level the playing field and avoid customers being ripped even more by the AD's.

I started perusing the Rolex website about a month ago & saw prices. Being a new owner & new to the Rolex website, I didn’t realize that was a new phenomenon.

Ha! Of course - should have re-worded to “make everything catalogue and show the price”

Would be interested to see those Daytona prices with the rubies or the fully iced out sky-dweller.

I think they could charge extra for things not to have diamonds or gold and such.

Cool. Never knew retail price of platinum Daytona.

Funny how is almost $80k, compared to even the Le Mans at $51k.

“Historically, platinum has been more expensive than gold, but beginning in 2011, gold’s price started to surpass platinum’s. As of this writing in mid-May 2023, gold is trading at around $2000 per ounce while platinum is trading at closer to $1070, according to CME Group.”

Wonder why platinum Daytona is so much more expensive compared to gold.

It's my understanding that platinum is harder to work with than gold. But I could be wrong and it wouldn't be the first time.

Agreed on this. Some ADs try to charge more than retail, and if you don't know what retail is--how are you supposed to know you "overpaid?"

About time not disclosing prices on any product is just dumb.
