Question about White Dial Milgauss

I was fortunate to recently pick up a watch I have wanted for a long time. The White Dial Milgauss, purchased from a grey here in Tokyo. I have been searching for a "newer" model for the past 2-3 years and at a reasonable price. So I was extremely happy to find one with a 2018 recently. However, The last Rolex catalog to feature this model was the 2015/2016 and I believe it was officially discontinued in 2017 (please feel free to correct me is I am wrong). This watch was listed as a "2018". I also noticed there is one on the Rolex CPO program also with a "2018" date. With the guarantee card having a 2018 date, would this mean the watch had been sitting at the AD for 1-2 years or was it really produced up to 2018? Thank you for any insight from the pros.
