A Rolex goes with everything. You don’t need to be James Bond to pull it off (I would not say the same for Omega or whatever he is wearing nowadays).

There are a few non Rolexes out there on blue bands, but I hesitate to buy because I wear brown belts and shoes with blue suits and I’m not sure if it will go.
If i'm wearing a watch on a leather strap, the leather strap will definitely be same color family as my shoes and my belt. 100%. Not wearing a watch on a black leather strap, with brown leather shoes.

That being said, if the watch is on a bracelet, it doesnt matter because you are not matching leathers. Its a nice touch if you have a blue suit and you happen to have a blue dial, but in many lighting situations (and especially in the evenings), it will look black anyway.

But the dial color of the watch does not need to match anything. I wear black dial watches with blue t-shirts, blue dial watches with black t-shirts... if its on a bracelet i pick the watch i'm in the mood to wear regardless of outfit. But if its on a leather strap... i'll match leathers.

You have to match your watch and its strap.

But on outfit ...
Match when you feel like you want to.
Don't match when you don't want to.

I think there are no real rules, and
asides from yourself, very few have
any expectations.

Matching outfits for men are called uniforms. They are worn by athletes and/or military. Going on a hunch you were neither......

The reality is, very few people notice and even fewer care what watch you wear.

Came here to say this. When I owned a 116610LV, I would wear it with navy all the time.
