Datejust 41 mm / AD

Randomly walked in to the local AD and they had a Datejust 41mm 18k yellow gold and 904L stainless steel champagne diamond dial on oyster perpetual bracelet on display and they were willing to sell. The watch looked stunning, but I’m curious to know if them having this watch available for sale is an unusual occurrence. They told me this won’t last long and to make a decision quick if I want it.

Definitely not unusual having this for sale. They’ll be thankful if you purchase it, as would most ADs

If it was available for sale to a walk in, it probably gives you a very good indication of how popular it is.

Oyster bracelet is not as popular as jubilee and diamond dials are not exactly hot sellers as well

Don't rush to buy it because you are afraid it will be gone...

I have seen a couple of TT Daytonas for sale in my AD's window in the past 3 years but with these exceptions, all of their watches on display for sale have been various versions of DJs, mostly small ones, many TT with diamond dials.

If you want one in that configuration, then you've just stuck gold! If you don't really want one like that, and are only thinking about buying it because it's "an available Rolex", then my advice would be to think again.

But then that would also be my advice if you were were looking at an available BLRO or Daytona - only buy if you genuinely like it.

Yes i am. Was never into date just until I saw that one. It just looked beautiful. I’ve been more into the gmt and the submariner, but that fluted bezel and the champagne dial got me lol
