RG slate Sky Dweller was my top choice until I tried one on. It didn't work for me, much as I love the Sky Dweller. A full RG watch (and full YG) just doesn't suit me. I'm now waiting for my WG BLRO to turn up. I'm probably in for a long wait but I'll try to live long enough.

As much as I love the SkyDweller, I have no use for its annual calendar complication. Great watch, just not for me.

I’ll take the trusty Rolex 126710.

Rose gold sky dweller with the turquoise dial looks like a beautiful watch in the pictures. But I have the WG GMT and love it

I have the steel versions of both watches and I rotate between the two frequently. It mostly depends on my mood or what I’m doing any given day. The skydweller is a heavier watch but I assume if your looking that gold variants you’re already used to that. Another thing is I believe the skydweller is quicker to set if you haven’t worn it for a little while. The gmt is a bit more cumbersome to set the date if you haven’t worn it for 2 weeks because the second position is for the gmt function and not the date.

Nice to see you made the move Harry. Why do you think the wait will be long ?

I love them both. The SkyD is my daily wearer and I pull out the GMT Master II for the weekends and holidays

I few the GMT at least to me is a bit more aesthetically pleasing, and well rounded overall.

Obviously, the movement in the Sky Dweller is significantly more complex and on another level than the workhorse in the GMT. The styling between the two watches are so different I am not sure you need to compare them. Fluted bezel vs ceramic movable bezel is two worlds apart in styling.
If you are going for movement alone then the SkyDweller is a clear winner. If you are going for sporty and simplistic operation then the GMT is the winner. Servicing cost and robustness also favors the simpler GMT.

True this. Different animals. Get one of each in stainless. I did that. Problem solved.

Had both. The skydweller in rose is stunning and on another level. Only downside is it’s a little too heavy. Would still have one now but the lure of platinum was too much

Which GMT function watch

I want to say SkyD but unfortunately it’s too chunky and top heavy for my 6.85 inch flat wrist.

The GMT fits me better.
