Alixanderov - it’s probably no consolation but I would rather be 18 again, than in my 50’s and own a Rolex.

Enjoy your youth and forget about owning a nice watch.

Own one and trigger your unlimited wants. Then you will work hard enough until you can afford more

Earning enough to buy a Rolex?

If from a wealthy family, somewhere between $0 and the cost of the watch.

If self-reliant, whatever income plus savings combo gets you the $ funds required for purchase plus avoids incurring (or maintaining) high interest debt payments.

The rest is personal risk appetite and priorities.

From what you said, ALL your funds would be going towards the Sub. At this point in your life, that money can be better served elsewhere, IMO.

I would say, pick up a Seiko Turtle to get you through college. If you like the Sub, you’ll likely like the turtle as well. You’ll be out having young people fun, making young people decisions. Which doesn’t always add up to ideal situations with a Rolex. Traveling that time with you, it will always have a place in your collection.

When you have a job making consistent college grad money, line up the Sub purchase.

If you have the money, won't bury yourself in debt, and have a way to replenish the funds; go for it!

That watch will (hopefully) remind you of a very short and exciting part of your life. The thought you have to "earn" a Rolex watch is nothing but marketing foolishness. If I had the resources I would have gotten my 14060m as a much younger man.

Life is too short, don't March to the beat of someone else's drummer.

Well, you are vastly incorrect on the price of a Submariner. $9400 wont cut it, unless you purchase a ragged out used watch. Even in KL, which I personally travel for work4-5 times a year.

I wonder what the OP thinks of all this valuable information.

Are you commenting on the presumed age of the thread starter or confused about what year it is?

Based on the 3 year "math" I'm going with he thinks 2/21 refers to Feb 2021 and not Feb 21, 2024, the day OP posted.

I concur. Where I live, subbies are drugs.

Kids - Buy submariners, not synthetic opiates…

How do I earn enough money to buy a Rolex Submariner?

I spent all my money on a Pepsi when I was in college. It was every penny in the world to me. Never regretted it for a second. Wound up trading it in on something a few years back for triple what I paid. Anyone can make it happen if they really want it. You don’t have to have $100k in the bank to do it.
