Out of the two it would have to be the Explorer but why not go vintage? Like a vintage Tudor sub

Understood. I'm a fan of the Black Bays.

But I wonder will you always be thinking the Explorer is better than a Tudor...

Since you're asking, I'd keep neither and lose the Santos, too.

I also feel the Santos is out of place in this collection.

I'd keep the Explorer personally. I just think it's such a classic. I wish the 40mm version had been around a couple years ago - I loved my 39, but it was just a touch too small for me.

I had both and kept the Explorer. Some says it's plain but I think it's perfect everyday watch.

I agree with t-bone. I would sell both unless you want to keep th Tudor as a travel/beater. I personally would never wear the Tudor or the explorer if I had your other 4 watches in my collection.

Get someone to put them in different boxes and see which one makes you happier when you open it.

Neither. I would go with an Omega Speedmaster Professional on bracelet, 3861 or 1861. Pick up a few straps and add a lot to an already great collection.

Of those two keep the Explorer. But as William said above me, I'd consider losing a couple Rolex and add an Omega for a little variety.

Of those I’d keep the explorer.

But I’d probably get ride of both and go with 4 or add something different. If you’re not all Rolex, everyone has their favorites. I’d look at Moser (either streamliner or heritage - the former certain not cost neutral) or a VC overseas for the flexibility with a rubber strap and bracelet (also not cost neutral).

Keeping Santos as it is versatile and can be used as a dress watch, which i am lacking in this collection

You sound undecided! Therefore you'll regret selling either of them .
I would always keep the Rolex.

I’d keep the explorer, dump the santos, and add a dressier watch on leather. Maybe an Omega Deville, IWC Portugieser, or go upscale and add a Rolex 1908 or VC Traditionnelle.

I'd be inclined to go for a DJ or DD depending on budget and taste.
From your requested choices I would go for a TT explorer for something different. The Black Bay is nice, but personally I can't live with the "faux" riveted bracelet.

When wearing my BB58, I can’t even see the rivets, so it’s a non-issue.

I agree on the rivets. The faux just bothers me. It’s like visible false beams in a ceiling. Make them structural or don’t have them.

If forced to choose I’d go with the Explorer, but in 40, or maybe 39.

Honestly, with what you already have I’d go with a different brand or save the cash.

I didn't vote, as my choice is "neither".

You've got a great set of 4 SS watches. I'd either stay put or, if you "need" a 5th watch, I would either go simple (like a 2 or 3-hand dress Grand Seiko like the SBGY007) or gold (like a 40mm RG YM or a 36mm YG Day-Date).

Good luck!
