Time for rolex pepsi price to come down to earth
So apparently the grey market had been hyping on the discontinuation of the Pepsi, pushing the prices up. Now that it is not discontinued and in production, is it time for the price of the Pepsi to come back down? lol

The production numbers are still very low so it's doubtful the prices drop.

Its been in production since 2018. There are secondary dealers that have these in the multiples of 10's and 20's. Same for the BLNR. Not a rare watch not sure who or where started this rumor. Look online they are all over the place and these came from AD's in the beginning. This is like the Hulk and John Meyer Daytona all over again. Secondary dealers hoard them speculating it will be 'discontinued' creating a bunch of hype and when it isn't discontinued and they are left holding the bag they try and create some scarcity or exclusivity narrative. Its still a mass produced modern Rolex at the end of the day.

Greys dont hoard them, they make money by flipping them as soon as possible. They’d take the same risk as us, so why not sell at “peak”…? Besides, it’s still exponentially harder to get one from an AD compared to a batgirl or sprite, which can be had with no purchase history.

As long as they’re difficult to obtain at AD’s prices will remain elevated IMO.

Never said rare, I said limited. The BLRO is limited due to Quality Control issues with the Blue & Red ceramic paint. |

This isnt true. It’s artificially less produced. You think Rolex cannot make a single red-blue bezel when it costs a fraction of the sellijg price?

I’ve been keeping an eye on prices for BLRO since the beginning of the year. Prices have been creeping up the last few weeks, but I’ve only seen a couple sell since the start of year. I’d be surprised if prices don’t start to come down, otherwise I suspect dealers will be sitting on stock for a little while

Would be nice to grab one at a lower price point or even able to get one at an AD but I doubt neither will happen. Only time will tell...

The rest of the SS GMT line up is black & another color for this very reason. It's less of an issue with the Root Beer and WG variants as the ceramic paint combination applies to gold better than it does to SS. As someone who is an industrial engineer in a manufacturing environment for a living, this 1000% makes sense. |

No doubt "discontinuation hype" has been baked into the price, and the new reality is that it should not be. Thus, the perceived value of the watch from the grey market buyer perspective should be lower.
We might see a flood of new Pepsi inventory as buyers look to capture the current pricing. |

100% spot on. They are just used watch dealers looking to profiteer as much as possible. I don’t necessarily blame them, just don’t go around calling them trusted like we’re good friends. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Really? Yawns. What’s your excuse for Daytona then? Again, nobody questioned the problem, but how important it is. The red-blue bezel is nothing in the manufacturing process. They produce thousand fold ceramic bezel watches compared to Pepsi. If they wished they could easily meet the demand on Pepsi. This is not your rubber ducks manufacturing company. |

Prices went up on the bezel insert and discontinuation rumours. That the watch remains in the catalogue and next year is the 70th anniversary are strong indications production issues have or will be addressed and supply will increase. I expect prices to drop like a ton of bricks. People are also going to get squeezed out by the new interest rate regime.

what does that have to do with the cost of oil in saudi arabia? because there isn't a single daytona with a 2 tone bezel.

It’s not a issue that would affect the demand so much that a bat or sprite can be had with no prior AD history and for a Pepsi you need 10-20k or whatever |

You can definitely see when the speculation about the BLRO getting discontinued made the prices on Chrono24 start ticking up again.

For what its worth, the "rumor" I heard was not of discontinuation but that they were having trouble with their recent batch of the "Red" coloring for the bezel which in turn led to lower production and thus higher pricing. I can only call it a rumor but its a "strong" rumor if you catch my drift.

I think you can make the argument that they will produce even less of them now that they have added yet another SS GMT to the catalogue.

Imho msrp is priced right. A small 5% increase to msrp this year would be appropriate.

Speculators will be panicking now after expecting a big jump on a “discontinuation” which never happened.
