I do like the blue ombre WG DD40

Stumbled across this one. This looks pretty sharp! I think I like this over the regular blue romans DD. Seems to be more legible too. Curious to see some real pics of this one.

Oddly enough you can have the exact same one in platinum now too

I do love this ombre dial on the WG DD36, but I hate that it has diamonds! That's such a killer for me. That blue ombre dial without diamonds on the WG DD36 would be a very easy "yes" from me.

You are in great luck then.

Rolex introduced the exact DD36 configuration you asked for.

In an otherwise quiet W&W for Rolex this is by far my favorite

This one is killer.

The new DD dials are fantastic across the board. Really love that the 36mm's got some love. The 40's have some nice additions too.

Really like this as well as the other Ombre options. Interesting that they kept the bright blue dial as well. I prefer this one.

I am ready to trade my blue dial 40mm WG for the new 36mm blue Ombré dial.

You could potentially do a dial swap.

Yes, that is a possibility as the model numbers are the same. After owning the DD YG 36mm for a bit now, I am liking that size better than the 40mm.

Thank you for the great suggestion.

Sure thing! What's your wrist size out of curiosity? I'm debating if I want a 36 or a 40 with my wrist that's just over 7". Every time I try one on, I can't decide! The new dials and roman numerals make that decision even harder.

My wrist size is about 6.75” and the 36 is a great fit. It is also the shape of my wrist. The 40mm 11 series GMT fits better than the Sub.

Amazing looking dial. Definitely much better tone of blue than standard one that we saw in the past year

Sorry to bring this one back from the dead, but has anyone actually seen one of these? A video, live photo, anything? I can't find a real picture of this anywhere. I can find the diamond dial but not the romans?

That is definitely odd as anyone buying a Platinum Rolex really needs to stay with the default Ice Blue dial in my view.

Looks great on the WD DD of course

It’s ok, but I feel WG DDs with blue dials look too similar to the ubiquitous blue dial DJ.

I prefer the ombré green in YG.

I can't do those diamonds, but I think Rolex does baguettes well.

I’m exactly the same. Always admired the ombré dials, but never like the diamonds myself. The diamonds seem to stick out even more on these dials than regular dials as well.

Not typically a Roman’s fan either, but this one looks really nice. I haven’t really seen this variant before. Nice find from the catalog OP.

After seeing the new releases online I also targeted both the blue and green ombre daydates as potential buys with the blue as a slight favorite, although I had already seen the green ombre yellow gold 36 with a diamond bezel and thought it was a stunner and plan to purchase for the wife...as for me the blue was the favorite as I am not sure I can pull off a full yellow gold bracelet....

I was then lucky enough to visit W&W this year and they had had both of them fairly close to each other in the display and in the 'metal' the yellow gold green combo was the absolute stunner for me, not to say the blue and white gold was not also a stunner but I kept coming back to the green/yellow gold combo and this ended up as my favorite new release from Rolex this year...

I did take pics, sadly they do not do either dial justice but I will post....however I ask that you check out the following video at 3minutes that gives more of the impression I got on the yellow gold/green combo....winner for me

Thanks for posting. Wow that green ombre YG is a total beauty! I think I would still go for the blue only because I don't want the flash of yellow gold. But no arguing it is a beautiful watch. That's cool that you got a chance to try it on too!

The video is not mine but one I came across.....my point being that the impression you get from seeing the video better represents how I saw the watch at W&W as sadly my pics from that event don't do the dials justice...

Sadly the gray market price he is quoting is the retail price in Saudi
