Watch running erratically
Any thoughts what would cause a watch to behave this way:
Runs spot on for 2 days then gains 18 seconds in 2 hours. Maintains the rate of +18 seconds for a day then gains 12 seconds. Maintains this rate then gains ... Any ideas would be appreciated. I don't think it is magnetized as it passes the compass test (not conclusive but a good indicator). Thanks, Jonathan |

It is a Nomos Neomatik with the DUW 3001 movement (I just know there are a lot of knowledgeable people here).

More details please. Is this a modern watch still under warranty or something you’ve had for years?

I would try demagnetizing anyhow. If that's not it then let Nomos correct it. Nomos customer service is excellent.

Thanks for all the advice - I'm just going to send it to Nomos as it is under warranty.

I read somewhere if the watch is not magnetized and put on a demag machine it can magnetize it as there is no charge in the watch for the current of the demagnetizer to counteract to go to charge neutral.
