WG version is a no brainer. It even has proper lugs.

I went through similar decision and went with the WG blue dial. The dial is just so beautiful and it really sparkles in different types of light. It is worth the price differential.

Don't think I would buy a metal bezel Daytona again. The new WG with ceramic bezel and oysterflex is my choice

I like the look of the blue dial better. It's pm but spectators will assume ss. Only downside is I would feel like babying it more than a ss model.

What about the 116509 VS the 116500 white?

~7 year old thread back in action - awesome.
That said - agree regarding the 116500LN in white. |

It is an old thread but it does always surprise me the WG blue dial wins.
The steel Daytona has always been this mythical thing that is impossible to get, yet the WG blue which sometimes is available on walk in, wins 3 to 1. Seems like 7 years on, the theory still stands. |

The 116500 would be a great daily driver with its cerachrom bezel and black dial
The 116509 being a little more special because its precious metal and vibrant blue dial but much more delicate being that it is WG Can't go wrong with either.

black dial ceramic wins. Blue as good as it is, the bezel will scratch to bits. The Ceramic is is superior in every way. It is age proof, scratch proof, fade proof, and technically superior in every way even though the blue has a white gold bezel.

Feels that the WG looks better in official photographs than in real life.
For PM, my vote goes to oysterflex models. |

For me, the ceramic bezel makes the difference despite being just steel against PM. 116500 for me.

Years from now you'll have a SS watch that gets polished and then a mint bezel. WG will age the same. Yes the steel 116500 Daytona is iconic new age... But 'my opinion' is the blue dial white gold could be the one to have long term. Basically a similar use case if the Patek 5811 WG blue dial gets discontinued.
