OP - you’re at a frustrating phase of the buy cycle, you’ve made up your mind and you’re ready to buy now. I and many others can relate- I just landed a 226570 after months of mulling.
Good news- as others mentioned, you can easily secure this piece close to msrp asap either BNIB or LNIB from many of our trusted sellers. Search the classifieds and get acquainted the sellers and inventory. More good news- you dont have to deal with AD BS to get an ExpII |

If you call you will not get anything. Visit in person and ask. The black is not hard to get right now.

My two cents - you need to relax a bit. From your posts, it just sounds like you are too much in a rush. I would guess this comes off when you go to the AD. The SAs can sense that, and they’ll push you towards CPO or try to get you to buy other stuff to get the Rolex you so urgently desire.
An Explorer isn’t crazy to be a first Rolex, but of course not as easy as a DJ. Be patient, expect it can take 2 years but it should be less than that. If you don’t have a relationship with any existing AD (doesn’t sound like you do), then go visit in person (not call) at least 3 ADs. Tell them you’re interested in the watch, and say you’re happy to wait for one but will be ready to pick it up anytime one is available. Don’t even talk timeline with them. You’ll get it soon. Ps I would buy new. |

Hmm seems the least expensive grey market new one I've found so far is 12,500. Seems like too much right?

Of course, I wouldn't do this until I hit every dealer on the front range and gave them two months to pull through. But if you need tomorrow, TRF trusted seller is the way to go. (Takuya, OCWatchguy, Sohais, Nashville, DavidSW etc..). |

The Rolex Forum (TRF). We just had two recent incoming of Polar Explorers. They are out there. Is 12.5k too much? That depends on how bad you want it. Good luck with the hunt.

Picked up my Polar on Wednesday after waiting 15 months. The AD told me that was the first Polar they've received this year, although they have seen two Black face Explorer II's this year. This is in Calgary, AB.

Got my polar explorer ii in Vegas boutique in literally 5 hours! Went in, expressed my interest, left my contact information and in5 hours got a call saying they had one they could sell me. Next day flew back home to NJ with my new watch, love it!

When the premium is so small and it saves me a load of time and hassle, that works just fine for me when I just get what I’m after straight away. |

The AD I'm trying to establish a relationship with is going to the big watch trade show this weekend and is hoping to find a 22 he can buy for CPO for me so he can sell it to me. So there's that!

I guess cause your buying a watch not a kidney. People saying in this thread "if they like you" it's ridiculous. Should be able to go in there tell them what you want, if they don't have it, here's my number, call me when you get it. Just buy from trusted seller.

Two different authorized dealers informed me that they do not receive many of the polar explorers. It is one of my most cherished timepieces.

Yea that's basically what my guy said. He gets about 2 polars per year. He said he gets like 10 subs per year.

That may be true, but please also consider there are 20 people in the line for sub but 2 for exp ii. Shop around, you should be wearing it before the end of year.

Got mine in 2021 within two weeks after first visit ever to the AD (where I got 3 additional pieces in following 3 years).
Key thing as others already said, go visit in person, have a coffee, try some on & talk watches. |

Personally I’d just use one of the trusted sellers here:

I agree with the trusted seller route. The markup is minimal if you're wanting it that bad.
