Frustrating But Not Surprising Trip To AD

Sorry -bit of a rant / vent here

Went to my AD today with my wife to pick up a ring we ordered for her. As always we checked to see what they have in the Rolex Boutique. They have 34 Rolex Watches for display including 2 Sub Dates. Oyster & Jubilee of both Sprite and BLNR - multiple DD in all sizes, both color SS Yacht Masters, Rose Gold Daytona on OF . . . . None-for sale. Got basically a blank stare when I tried to engage them on product flow of what they are seeing compared to prior couple of years.

Have purchased 4 Rolex & some jewelry - so have some purchase history with them.

I know I could go grey look at other brands . . .etc. but I know I wont - they got me hooked - but man they sure make it frustrating sometimes.

Anyone else get frustrated but know they are not going to do anything about it

I always stick to AD’s that are privately owned instead of multi-location AD’s like Mayors for example, to avoid this type of experience.

I have no expectations of the sales associate to know anything above their pay grade as most just want to make sales target, and bring home food to the dinner table like everyone else. Maybe reserve that question for the regional Rolex rep next time? You can usually find them at boutique events

I feel you my friend, recently I was looking for a birthday gift for myself and visited the my AD and was told ,nothing but , Rolex is in such high demand? I was not looking for anything hard like SS Panda or Pepsi. Something easy like a Rootbeer or explorer II which some on here have gotten in a few weeks or days.

As recommended I let them know in advance and have continued to follow up with them without being needy or a pain.

They don’t care, although I think the SA wanted to make me happy? It’s not up to them who gets what. I also don’t understand this attitude or business practices. Look at all the watches available with the grey market. Where do they come from?

Keep your head up. Things will change and they will be calling us soon. I remember going to the AD and the cases where full with almost anything you wanted and the only reason to go grey was the amount of discounts available, even the AD would take 10% to earn your business.

Have a great holiday weekend all.
