Icon12 Hedda Gabler by Ibsen...please wish us luck

HI All,

We have a play opening on Monday 19th Oct... It's been an intensive 3 months rehearsal for me as director and I wanted to ask if you would be so kind as to wish the cast luck and to break the statutory theatre leg of course!!!!!!

It's a nerve racking time..... but what a BUZZ

It's in a small 80 seater theatre and I am pleased to say we have just about sold out for the week!!!!

Feeling extremely queasy and nervous as all hell - will be downing booze in the control room on opening night!!!!

here are some pics from the dress rehearsal....

Thanks all

Hello Dalip,

If these are the pics of your show, then you are a topclass director. Expressions have come out so well. Your anticipation related anxiety is absolutely normal. Here is wishing your show all the success. Wish I could watch a clip on youtube too.

Thanks so much! As ever it has been very time consuming and now we wait for our opening night audience! I am about the head in for the final dress rehearsals and then hand over to the Stage Manager for the performances....

I really appreciate your feedback! Thanks! It is a huge and classic piece of theatre - fabulous translation also by Christopher Hampton...I have also set it with the audience on 2 sides using only one centred Chaise. It is all in the acting, lighting and music for which we have used Chopin's Prelude in E minor and original variations of...I have a fabulous musician/composer I collaborate with! So it should be very confronting..we hope!!! We will be putting clips on YOutube once it is professionally filmed which will be in 4-5 days...Thanks so much again

Good luck, dude! Having spent 4 years in NY in college, I came to enjoy theatre, especially the smaller off-broadway productions. Some were simply awful, some were incredible. Either way, each was an experience in and of itself.

I'm rootin' for ya!

Hey All -

Just wanted to say thanks again for your words of support

The show was received really well and we have had amazing feedback over the past week since we closed.

The upshot is we are now receiving considerable funding to perform the play at the end of march in a major city venue

We are all of course delighted - in fact ecstatic would be more appropriate

It means a bit of work reshaping as the theatre has a fixed staging...but should be easy to do over a few weeks!!

Thanks again!!
