Haven't turned down the dark path of quality writing instruments but here are a few pics of my more than pedestrian collection.

My only complaint about rollerballs is that I can't seem to get one with a wide (broad) tip.

They do roll very well, I have no problem with that, but the widest tip that one can get is usually a medium, and I still find that if I can get a broad tip on a ballpoint that such a tip is a little smoother.

However, they are all good. I guess a broad in a rollerball would be likely to result in a much reduced refil life and may just not be popular enough to warrant the big companies making one.

Completely agree about the small tips. The Levenger has a medium that writes very nice. The only refill tip available for the NextPen is small.
Rollerball has always been my favorite but they do use up the ink.

You have a lovely collection Dan, I love the carrier for them as well

You strike me as a person who would really appreciate writing with a really nice vintage pen. For some reason a nice Parker Vacumatic from the 1940's comes to mind.
From your posts and the watches you own it would make sense, understated class.

Those are beautiful. I'm flattered by your choice of instrument for me because I'd certainly love to be associated with that stunner.
Unfortunately my penmanship doesn't deserve such a fine example. Your writing style certainly gets the most out of these pieces of art. I love the handwritten descriptions.

Do you remember when you acquired your first Rolex?? Ahhhh, yes! That is the feeling you will get if you will just break out and go pick up a fabulous fine fountain pen.

The beauty of the instrument. The effortless writing. The satisfaction of the ink shading and line variations. There is nothing quite like it. It makes the everyday tasks of writing things very different!

I know it all sounds "foriegn" now, but just wait until you have that lovely instrument in your hand and begin to pen your first lines with it. I will get off on you!

While you are at it invest 15$ in a nice Moleskine journal and pen your thoughts. With a nice FP you will find all kinds of things to write about.

By the way, you are already on your way to a nice collection. I particularly like the Zebra wood pen. Thanks for posting!
