Years ago, in the Navy the daily dives were at around 20 m. These were done on Subs, Dates and ND.
During training or in “operations”, 40 m were also common. Diving in barrel training, in Neustandt in Germany the 33 m total height was compulsory. Nowadays, the 5-20 m range is also a daily reach, especially or rather strictly during summer period when I underwater hunting fish and octopus. In this range I have used all my watches, DJ, AK Subs and GMT’s, even when the old models were proof only for 50 m. Never had a leak or other problem, besides the scratches from rocks or the fishing equipment. Though I would love some sub-water photos or videos, I never owned such a camera, and when I get into the water, I prefer my gun instead. The reasons are obvious !!!!!

The only watch I use for diving is my trusty Citizen Aqualand I. It has seen more then a thousand dives during the 15 years I've owned it. Deepest dive? not sure. the one I'm the most proud of, a 35 m free dive in Malaysia :)

I was just thankful that my Closed Circuit Rebreather performed flawlessly.....otherwise, my 4 hour dive would have quickly turned into an 8 hour dive on open circuit
BTW, after 12 years, I should probably get my sub ND serviced I am just superstitious that they wont get the seal right agian....

Deepest for me was 265 ft on regular air in Bonnaire using my Citizen Hyper Aqualand. Took my Nikonos 5 with me and took available light pics at 220 ft. I went up after one of my friends started flapping his arms like a bird and crashed his head into the sand, caught it on film eyes glazed right over. It was the only dive that when I got to the decom site I could've sworn I took at least 12 pictures and in reality I took 34 and I honestly didn't remember taking the last 22 pics, but they all came out great so I must have been cognizant at the time of what I was doing. Very cool wreck dive the Maria Bonn a 19th century mail schooner. Rik

I've been down 40m-45m ish a number of times with my Sub and SD. I've also been to a depth of 200m in a submersible with my Sub, does that count ?

I've regularly been to 130 feet in Cozumel. My deepest dive on air was to 185 feet on the lower deck of the Japanese WW II warship San Francisco Maru in the Truk (Chuuk) Lagoon. We spent quite a long time breathing from spare tanks hanging at 30 and 15 feet from our dive boat.Time passes quite slowly doing prolonged deco stops.
Here we are preparing for a dive to 90 feet in a Minnesota lake, looking for the lost mast of a sailboat. It was almost pitch black at that depth, but we found the mast after about ten minutes. I find lake diving to be quite unpleasant. |

Have worn my Sea-Dweller and omega seamaster at 173m (on different dives - the seamaster failed and was flooded!)

My Sub has only been down to about 45-50ft., I had a cheap Casio analogue/digital that I took down to 115ft. in the St. Lawrence River about 10 years ago.
