T Swiss T < 25 question?.......
A friend has a beautiful 1665 Rail, which he treats like a hammer and drives me nuts , but it continues to work regardless. Anyway I was checking it out last night and noticed that unlike my 1680 which says SWISS-T<25 , his has the TSWISST<25.
Are these two variations discribing the same thing (amount of tritium etc...) or is there a difference in the contents of tritium between the two dials? Thanks, |

Interesting Q, I never realized that there was a "T SWISS T <25" variation before your post.

It appears rail SD are the only ones marked like this. There is no indication that the tritium is a different.

T SWISS T= Earlier versions
<25T=Dials from mid 70's on By law I think they had to limit the amount of tritium emitted to less than some measurement of tritium. 25 represents that measurement. I am unsure exactly why they changed the front. Perhaps a different dial manufacturer? Someone please correct me if I am wrong. |

From my own research.......
Before I posted the question, all I could find was that it was simply just a different style of writing, but indicated the same thing as other dials, such as my 1680.
What I found confusing is that it was ONLY on the Rail SD's, which I guess will be another Rolex dial oddity. |
