Proper way to wind????

Hey guys,

Just got another watch in. my winder only holds 2. And since i have 4, one cant be on it. So i was wondering what is the correct way to wind my explorer II manually. you pull it out, then its clockwise right? and how many times do i need to turn the crown/how do i know when it is fully wound? thanks.

Clockwise is correct, about 40 times, you cannot overwind it.

First, you screw the crown out until it jumps out a bit. That first position out is for winding (second for date, third for setting time). You turn the crown clockwise in the winding position to wind it. Some recommend 30 turns, some recommend 40. Either will do. Then you wear and enjoy. Don't worry about overwinding, it doesn't happen.

is it because there's a clutch to prevent it?

I assume so, Tools could describe the actual mechanism.
