How important is a warranty for pre-owned?
On late model Rolex (2005 thru 2009) how important is a warranty?
If you were comparing two identical late model pre-owned Rolex watches and one watch had a one or two year in-house warranty how much more would you pay for the watch with the warranty? Thanks for your opinions.

I would consider the warranty to be worth a service charge, at least. That's assuming that the other watch wasn't recently serviced. I expect a Rolex to last 40-50 years, so the warranty is going to become unimportant, eventually.

Personally--I would pay the same. I have gotten store warranties but never had to use them. AS long as you get the watch serviced every 5 years or so--it will be fine. I fortunately have never had an issue outside of manufacturer warranty that I had to worry about it.

I wouldn't pay extra for a store warranty.... They should include it in the price to get my business........

I too have never used a store warranty. I just send my watches to RSC when they stop running or act funny. About every 6-9 years for the overhaul.

I would probably pay about £100 extra for the warranty not much more, thinking you might as well send it to RSC if you had any problems.

Gary the warranty add about $150 to $250 value of the watch even if it' expired,
The warranty is used as a confirmation of the source of the watch to make sure that the watch you're buy was not stolen and it's coming from a legit source...

I think it depends on what the warranty implies. I did go for a watch with a warranty from a local watchmaker, and paid more. The warranty itself was not the important thing, but rather knowing that the seller was going to stand behind the sale, and that I would have a place to go if a problem arose. I also get a level of service-little tweaks and questions are free of charge, as have been several pressure tests.
It is really the next best thing from buying from an AD
