I normally do not care for "black on black"

By that I mean, a black strap on a black dialed watch.

For instance:

With the bezel, dial, and strap, it is just too much black for me.

But I kinda like this combo:

The WG bezel seems to break things up.

I agree with you...I tend to like lighter colored straps with a black dial. There's more contrast and is more eye catching.

not sure I can agree as the above choices look awsome. I especially like the first and last.

The padre's choice is beautiful...

but, I can't fault the black on blacks either. Especially considering his 'work clothes' that cry out for the black on black combos.

I was going to say that I think he's in the wrong profession, if he doesn't like wearing black!

I like this black on black

Background: My AD gave me an expensive, dressier appearing matte black alligator with white stitching when I bought my Speedy Pro a few years back, and I wear it from time to time (I prefer wearing my Speedy Pro with straps as opposed to the bracelet).

Yesterday I bought a Hirsch "Corvette" series black perf leather with rubber trim (exposed on the edges). Comes with an integral deployant (two piece butterfly that when closed reveals an etched "H" on the stainless steel). Very comfortable, well constructed, and IMO looks sportier than the alligator with white stitching.

I don't know how to post a pic on this site, or I would have done so. But if interested you can do a search for Hirsch and several of the online stores display and sell this series.

I guess I go the other way...I prefer black on black and always thought it looks a little off when they are not the same. Kind of like when I see jokers walking around with black shoes and brown belts!

I love the combo.. But I like black on black as well. Hence why I just bought the same strap combo you have for my 2254.50 :)

All of those look incredible to me.

That electric blue is breathtaking!

I love that Omega racing strap on the Speedy Pro the most though. Great stuff!

The bottom watch of the two black leather Speedmasters; the one with the rounded, case-conformal perforated strap and deployment buckle, represents, to me, THE definitive man's watch.

Rather than "too much" black, this watch seems in perfect harmony with itself...to me.

Please tell me about this specific watch band; its maker, model number, type of leather, dimensions, name, cost, etc.

And, a gorgeous photograph.

Ken,

The strap is the Omega racing strap (ref 98000024) and the Omega fold over Omega deployant (ref 94521813).

My AD carries them as does www.ofrei.com.

That's very speedy looking strap (rally strap).
The curved ends puts a nice finish touch.

My favorite strap for my Speedy is this gold brown Hirsch Medici:

I like the curved ends and vintage "bomber jacket" look. Over time the strap develops a rich patina becoming quite soft and very comfortable on the wrist.
