How long does a Rolex Quartz Movement last? Are they prone to dying like the other quartz's watches?

Well thats a bit like asking how long is a piece of string.The O/Q movement is quite reliable and the 5035/5055 module was made to be a long life movement.And was designed to be serviced just like its mechanical brothers.Now take away the electronics and pulse motor,then all the moving mechanical parts are exactly the same as the Cal 3035.But the quartz movement is quite a bit more expensive than say just buying a fully mechanical Cal 3035. So with the proper service care IMHO would last as long as its fully mechanical brother.

I have one from 1982. Had in serviced by Rolex about 18 months ago.

It keep perfect time.

do you have any other prior service on your watch order to keep the perfect time john?

Well any quartz watch is going to keep good time,thats a fact of life.But afraid now if you want the most accurate quartz watches. Then you must look much further than any from the Swiss, you must now look to the land of the rising sun.

Before the service, my OQ was still keeping good time. I just wanted it cleaned up, polished, fully overhauled by Rolex.

The whole case has been replaced (due to corrosion). The only things that weren't changed were the movement, dial and bracelet.

It may devalue it, but I don't really care, as I know that the watch is totally genuine, waterproof and have Rolex service papers. Oh, I also have the original B&P's.
