Which pen would you keep??

I have 2 MB fountains. One is 146 and the other is Boheme.
They are both platinum fountain pens so they look very similar from the outside.
I can only keep one and need to sell the other one.

Which one would you keep and which one would you sell? And WHY??

My vote is to keep the 146, it's more of an iconic pen.

Most MB's look similar on the outside, but I'd keep the 146 myself. But first I would ask myself which pen I enjoy writing with more.

When you said "platinum" do you mean the trim is platinum (while the barrel/cap is precious resin) or the whole pen (clip, cap, barrel) is platinum?

I think the 146 will hold value better than the boehme and the 146 will probably sell for higher. So, if you want to realise more money, then probably sell the 146, otherwise I would keep it.

Yes... the trim is platinum... and the rest of the pen are in resin. Both pen look very similar in design and looks.

Thanks to all that have replied so far.

I think 146 is the more iconic pen as well... I am leaning toward 146 right now.

More comments??

The Boheme Platinum

The 146 Platinum

Guys,

I have owned both of these and I have to say that these don't look at all alike to me and I would have to lean toward the Boheme if it has the retractable nib. The 146, on the other hand, is not cartridge only as is the Boheme and holds a ton of ink.

I love them both so it would be a difficult choice.

But what a great choice to have!!!!

I like the platinum trim too but it can appear slightly 'cold' pen. The yellow gold trim gives it a bit more warmth and family feeling. My 2 cents, Cheers.

I totally agree, but as Richard brought up I would ask myself which one is better for you as the user - cartridge or piston fill is a big difference.

I have a 146 and found it to be excellent. It's almost the perfect size. That would be my pick.

The 146 Meisterstuck design is more iconic. I would keep that one and sell the other one.

I vote for 146.
It's a classic - can't go wrong.

Both are very nice and beautiful pens...as stated which one do you like the most and would love to keep regardless of what we have to say. But since asked I would keep the #146 since it will use a converter and hold more ink as Richard stated!!!

Thanks to all that have replied... it is a tough choice.
In the end, maybe i will end up keeping both.
I think if i was to just keep one... the Boheme will go.... since it is more of a flagship pen.
Thanks!~

The 146 has been my mainstay since the late eighties. You would have to pry a 146 out of my dead hands. Plus I like piston fillers.
