Any tips for changing a strap please ?

I've just ordered two straps from Toshi for my new 111. It'll be a few weeks before they arrive as they are handmade and bespoke, but I'm already concerned that I might scratch the polished finish on the case when swapping them over.

Does anyone have any tips please ?

Thanks

The screw-in lug bars make it pretty easy to change straps compared to most other watches with spring bars. Just make sure you're using the right size jewelers screwdriver and take your time.

and also just take your time, and do it slow. for an extra 30 seconds, it will save your lugs from a lot of scratches.

and i use one finger to kinda support the screw driver when turning, making it less likely to slip

i think some people take the extra step to tape up the lugs when doing strap change, but i just change straps too often to bother to tape it

Yeah, I think taping the lug should help minimize the chance of scratching the case.

good work John - im sure Rich will finish your straps in no time & you will love it

as for changing the straps, it is easy.

use the screw driver came with the 111, have one of your fingers underneath the case with the fingertip touching the screwdriver while turning... take your time and you will be fine.

ps - hope you have requested to have the tubes inserted in the straps

cant wait to see the pix!

Thanks all - much appreciated.

Eric - I have requested the tubes to be inserted in the straps. I didn't know if I had done the right thing or not, so that's a relief.

I promise to learn how to post pictures !

yep, thats it!

it would make changing the straps much easier, instead of swapping the tubes in and out of straps.

here are a pic of my bespoke Toshi straps

thinking of getting another for the wife - since she has "started" wearing my 000 lately
